Why I Play the Game

Why I play the game?

We ask ourselves:

Why do we put so much effort into playing softball?

Why do we show up an hour before, and stay an hour after the game is done?

Why do we shake hands after a tough loss, show up to the draft and come to the banquet?

The simple answer to those questions: Because we love it!

For the short few months every year, there is no other place we’d rather be for those few hours a week than at Eddy J.

We love the camaraderie, we love our teammates and we love our fans.  We look forward to, and are excited to play for our friends, spouses and children. When Daddy comes up to the plate, and their eyes open wide, with the expectations of that Big Hit.

The park is a place to come and hang out, and spend the evening, laughing over the best catches they’ve ever seen or the worst bloopers made in the field.

For our ongoing effort to make it about more….for those who’ve come and gone, a link to the past who may no longer be with us, or glimpse into the future to one day play with our sons.  That is why I play, that is why we all should.

At the end of the day, everything this league represents should be first and foremost a positive environment for all to enjoy.  A place to come and feel safe, a place where if you're a 1 or 14, you know you’ll have a laugh at whatever the final score.

This is what this league means to most of us, and those who do not share in that capacity, should either take a second look at themselves, make a choice to change or simply stay home.

A SUPER SUCCESS

A "SUPER" SUCCESS

Our first Super Sunday has come and gone.

Congrats to David Bassal for organizing such a perfect day!

The food supplied by Bobby and Lambros (Pizza Zante) was absolutely delicious and amazing!
σας ευχαριστούμε

A thank you to Albert from all those that enjoyed the muscle relaxing massages.  (For those that missed one, call Albert Mamane!!)

A huge thank you to all of the "helpers" that made the day run smoothly.

And of course, a great job was done by all of the captains and umpires to move games along smoothly.
